Opera, jazz? who cares? Only labels. The Duke was right when he said there was only two kinds of music - good and bad. All of those artifical distinctions belong to another time. If it can be written with the same musical language, then it has the same musical DNA. Gershwin knew that. He was a cypher of all he heard around him: folk, jazz, classical, even street noise. This ensemble is also reflective of that. Wonderful.

that piano intro sounds a lot like "Paprika Plains," by joni mitchell, who i know is a great fan of chaka and vice versa
