Since I've been having so many comments on audio quality from my earlier vids, I decided to redo some of the string reviews using my Martin DCX1E and just delete the old versions of these.

This review is for Elixir Phosphor Bronze Medium (.013 - .056) Nanoweb Acoustic Guitar Strings. http://bit.ly/nc67OR

Had to edit the audio (vocals) to amplify it. Added some reverb during the actual performances of the tunes. Done mostly on VirtualDub and Cubase LE.

Sorry for the delay in vids, but more to come since I was able to do a few more while I had the equipment set up.

Songs:
Four Horses of the Apocalypse
Autumn
House of Gold
Wayfaring Stranger

  • I tried Martin's coated strings and was terribly disappointed. They lost their shine and coating after I left them in my case over night. I'm thinking of going to Elixirs next. Good idea or should I go with another?

  • @Josiahjjr I actually liked Martin Lifespan strings pretty well. But, yeah, Elixirs are the way to go. You're in luck, too, because they've got a sale for Buy 2 get 1 free Pro Packs. I'll be stocking up on a couple packs myself! I'll send you a link with the offer included.

  • When I went to Guitar Center I was mainly looking for a Martin. I tried a Taylor or two, but they didn't hold a candle to the Martin. I was blown away by the sound of a guitar (DCX1E) that is made mostly of composite materials (Micarta fretboard, High Pressure Laminate back & sides, and Stratabond Neck).

My advice is to go with what sounds like music to your ears; no matter the brand. Try multiple guitars of the same model. This one was the 2nd one I tried. It sounded better than the 1st.
