The Northern Ireland Human Rights Commission required an animation that raised awareness about human rights. The Commission was keen to promote a positive and contemporary image.
The animation is set in Belfast in the future. Society has become over-run by the state. People are no longer free to express their feelings, hopes, desires, dreams and individuality. Society is constantly monitored and policed with surveillance cameras studying our every move. Our thoughts are controlled by visors worn over the eyes.
The story follows people getting on a bus, one person's visor breaks accidentally, which results in an explosion of colour - the other passengers hopes, dreams, fantasies and desires suddenly fill the bus. I intend to highlight a repression of our most basic freedoms: thought, religion, identity, culture, life, liberty and security.
