There are two rings in the "beautyfull well".

One is brass the other steel (black). I think that the real one is the black cause the special is that it´s forged in one piece without welding. The brass is for tourists cause you can better find it. Brass couldn´t be forged. The black is opposite the brass and it´s hard to find.

omg, I miss nuernberg so much, Its the best place to be in germany. I wish i could go back soon but i have to wait untill I'm done with college. there are so many things to see and do in Nuernberg. It deserves a place in the top 10 cities of Germany

My Dad was born there, and I was there in 1998. If you go back, drink Alstadthoff. It is the best beer I ever had!

Bayern is incredible. Just moved here (Vilseck) for a 3 year stay and already love the place. Can't wait to get out and explore the rest of Europe

I must correct myself. The brass is the right says wikipedia. When it was put inside the first time nobody knows but it was replaced many times at last 1957. The black was put inside at 1902. Turning the brass will give you luck if you want to have children. And brass could be forged.
