One of the best monologues I've seen in recent films. Absolutely brilliant!

  • I know this was a fictional movie, but this part feels like a real emotion had come out of him.

  • Jesus-Muhhamed-Zoroaster-Buddha all in one. So full of WIN.

  • JCVD = born to be a fighter

  • It really sucks. I've been watching van Damme since I was a kid. I've been watching since No Retreat No Surrender (I didn't catch Monaco Forever) I used to watch Cyborg and Kickboxer on VHS until the tape wore out. He was a huge deal for me. He and Arnold got me into weightlifting and martial arts.

It just sucks. Hard Target was good then he was miscast in SF. Sudden Death was another good one, but whorellywood just chews them up and spits them out with no shame. We love you JCVD.

  • Just watched the film and, damn that was a powerful monologue! It just comes out of nowhere, then bang you get this...it feels like it's coming from him and not written in a script which makes it all the more powerful.

  • Thank you Jean Claude, for all these years. I love your movies! I never had a father. You were my role model, from back when I was young. I grew up with your movies. It takes a lot to be as honest as you are. I'll always love your movies!

  • Quel homme... I don't know who's to fault, but I've always felt Van Damme should have taken some character roles in A-Class films with quality directors. I thought it was going to happen after Hard Target. Being involved in a movie with Henriksen and Brimley - directed by John Woo could have led to a more solid career. There have been so many good physical roles in substantial movies, it's a shame he didn't grab one. There's still time, but odds are it will never be.

  • @PsychoGemini

wow...thats deep. didnt know that^^. now im really eager to check out the movie. now i see why so much emotion was put into that part it was so good i was fuckin confused like wait..is he acting or is he serious? that was a smart as way for him to get that emotion out. haha certain actors out there should try that for emotional roles. If fuckin van damme could pull that off (VAN FUCKIN DAMME??) almost anyone can do it haha

  • he had a lot of courage to say what he is saying because it is real with explanation!!!

  • Wow this guy can actually act. Much respect, may have to check out the entire film.

  • There is a reason Van Damme is on Expendables 2 and Seagal isn't. Van Damme is a real person with real person experience and BTW a former professional karate fighter. Seagal is a 300 lb lardass who's "Achievements" in the martial arts are based on bullshit and traditional fairy tales and BTW he's a freakin guy who cheats on his wife. And is overweight X10. The real reason why Seagal couldn't make the Expendables? HE'S TOO DAMN FUCKING FAT!
