  • This is so fake. The results may have been valid if you had got her to smell different samples with her not knowing which one was the carpet.

  • This is not a scientific experiment. It's an observation. She was not coached. She had no idea what to expect. She did a baseline lift and a sham intervention. She made a full recovery when the carpet was removed. The patient certainly thinks the result is valid. In one study of 300 samples of carpet, researchers put each sample in the airflow of 4 mice and exposed the mice to the fumes from the carpet for 2 hours. In 10% of the carpet samples, all four mice died.

  • I have had a fibromyalgic condition for about six months now. I have been on a strict yeastfree diet and seemed to be getting better but the last two days I have had new carpets installed and, blow me, I am worse than ever now. Only hope is to aerate the house and hope the chemicals in the carpet dissipate . . . or move into a tent in the garden.
