A tribute of pictures of Steve Bokor, AKA Uncle Bobby Rivers. Famous radio DJ who died at age 51. He was from South Bend, IN. Along side being a radio DJ, he also volunteered for many charities that included the blue ribbion walk for domestic violence, which appeared on 20/20, helping soldiers in the Gulf War, and he is probably most known for his many hours of dedication with the MDA. He served as a host for the Jerry Lewis Labor Day Telethon for many years. After serving the MDA his mother was diagnosed with ALS, a disease associated with MD. I would like to thank each and every person who has taken the time to watch this video and for the awesome comments! It makes me feel good that people like you still remember him. I will be posting more video's and pictures soon, My husband is a whiz at editing video's and production. Funny fact that you may like to know is that my husband also works on the radio right here in South Bend. I guess it is true that women marry men like their fathers, and I married the most wonderful man in the world. My dad would be proud!

  • Yes, I do have his LAST show the day before he died recorded. I will give it to my husband to transfer the tape to a MP3 at his job and put it on here. I've been meaning to do that! THANKS!!

  • Thanks to jkretch72! I am very impressed that you remember the genre's and stations my dad worked at. Thanks again for saying he is the best radio personality Michiana ever had. I am glad someone agree's with me. lol :)

  • I used to work for a company called Dance Party Productions, they would do the dances for U93. Bobby was guest DJ at many of them. He was always funny, and goofing around with us. I even remember working with Travis a few times to. Terry Wilkinson used to own the company, he's my cousin. Bobby was always cool and never treated any of us bad. He was a CLASS ACT! God Bless.

  • @Monsternutt Thank you so much!! Was this in the 80's? I can't beleive you remember my brother Travis too! Thanks for the nice comments. By viewers making comments it makes me keep him alive. You made my day!

  • Have a lot of fond memories of listening to your dad on both Zip 104 and U93 back in the 80s...lots of laughs, and even got to talk to him briefly while making a request. Thanks for posting!

  • Radio days gone by.

  • Wow! I just learned that the great "Uncle Bobby Rivers" passed away six years ago. So sad. I was reading a book today that mentioned a Seattle DJ named "Bob Rivers". I got online to see if it was Uncle Bobby, and alas, found out he is no longer with us. I grew up listening to him on U93, then Zip 104, and I believe WRBR (also 104) which had an oldies format. After that, I lost track of him. He was one of kind. The best radio personality Michiana ever had. So sorry for your loss. - Jerry

  • @fosternatasha Yes, it was the 80's. God I'm getting old! Those were great times. Thanks and God Bless.
