The cinematic can be enjoyed by everybody, but it will resonate especially with well versed StarCraft fans.
It takes place four days prior to the start of the first single player campaign from StarCraft, focusing on the first contact between the Protoss and the Terrans, as executor Tassadar is sent to cleanse Terran colonies of the Zerg infestation.
These events are spoken of during the game, but we never saw how it all happened. Until now.

Great credit goes to our long time friend and collaborator, Phillip Sacramento (www.aspects-of-voice.net) for his portrayal of Tassadar.

  • but of course i think that would be too much for your experience level at that time.

  • @alphadios2003 The lore can be interpreted in multiple ways, since it was never clearly detailed how the purging of the Zerg took place. I don't think there could be hundreds of Super Carriers in Tassadar's fleet, since they are meant to be extremely rare hero ships. From a cinematic/artistic point of view, it wouldn't look good to have hundreds of beams in the frame, it might become excessively busy/overloaded for the viewer.

  • Not being rude or anyting. But i'd think 3 Battlecruisers can take on 1 carrier...Jus sayin

  • @Azured665 You're absolutely right. But this Carrier is the Gantrithor, the flagship of Executor Tassadar. And that changes the balance.

  • @Ranakastrasz There are Supercarriers in the StarCraft story, they just never appeared ingame as playable units. The Gantrithor appeared ingame, but didn't have that beam attack for balance reasons I suppose.

  • @lmvks Trespassing on Confederate space, non returning hailing frequencies. The Confederates had always been at war with some human faction (Kel Morians), so they do not tolerate trespassing.

  • So basically, the protoss are douches and wanna destroy earth?

  • @freespace87 also, what if protoss have weird vodoo means of killing foes? for instance, they kill a few mutas with an overpowered ship and maybe that causes distant mutas half way across the galaxy to all go nuclear and explode.

you'd have to suspect these different races represent incomparable religious elements of linear and non-linear variables of the time-space continuum being manipulated.

hell, i bet alex collier and gene roddenberry were big influences for this game.

  • carriers are OP :D

  • well lets rate this: at first you showed us how powerfull its gantrithor by destroyng 3 confederate battlecruisers. this was a great scene but after this scene you passed to a very simple attack like only 4 beams trying to scrape the surface of the planet to release the hot magma. well in starcraft 1 it says it was a massive bombardament. this would be like hundreds of Super Carriers launching their beams at a planet whose atmosphere is burning like hell.
