Pete always had a bit of an on-air temper when stuff didn't go right. I remember one time he berated an intern/noob when there a human error by calling him out by name and saying that "Producers don't like it when that happens..."
@Dook6 - This is obviously old. The male anchor at the end looks like Pete Wilson (not related to former California governor Pete Wilson), who began at KRON-TV, San Francisco's NBC affiliate, in (I believe) 1990. So this is obviously from mid- to late-80s.
Peter Giddings is my favorite TV meteorologist. Growing up in the South San Francisco Bay Area in the 80s and 90s, I always looked forward to his forecasts. I missed him when he retired.
OH my god. How un proffesional. He should have a general idea of what the tempurature would be and say "Its gunna be in the fifties, it was in the thirties .. or whatever it was.
I remember when all of the male KGO TV news people wore some ugly shade of yellow blazers. KFRC DJ at the time, Dr. Don Rose (RIP) asked on a Groundhog Day show, "What's the difference between Pete Giddings and The Groundhog? The Groundhog doesn't have to wear a blazer!"
Trying to rattle off the stats like a pro. Hope he had fun... "As for channel 7..."....ugh...."And the forecast is...ugh, I'll meet you at the desk..." Is it actual print they super? I thought by now they'd be using CG.
Someone got their ass chewed up and spit out off camera!
