In 1999, WBTV, Charlotte's CBS affiliate, celebrated its 50th anniversary. As part of the festivities, the station broadcast a retrospective program featuring clips from the station's past and current programming.
This particular promo, from the early 1980s, shows a maturation of the WBTV logo introduced in 1978. Computer-generated graphics made it possible to render the logo in three dimensions. These graphics nicely complement the montage of scenes from Carolina life and WBTV personalities.
Wow...when Charlotte truly had local talent! This was THE golden age of WBTV! Such a wonderful network! Bob Inman, Sarah James, Barbara McKay, CJ Underwood, Vivian Harris....the list goes on and on. Great station!

It has a mention of CBS's Round One of "We've Got the Touch."
As seen in the CBS 1983 promo, a person watching a CBS show connecting to a CBS Star; only in this version, it shows a couple putting down a bouquet of flowers next to the TV, and sportcaster Mike McKay grabbing one of the flower.
