Hello Everyone. I received a number of questions about the Misty video I recently put up. I used a few voicings and chords that were different than what is normally found on the chart. In this video, I try to share my approach to this tune in an understandable way. If you find something in this video worth incorporating into your own playing, it's free for the taking and I would consider it a compliment. I hope you find it helpful.

Special thanks to Lot2Learn for adding the digital keys to this video. His master level jazz chops are not to be missed. Check out his YT channel at http://www.youtube.com/user/lot2learn

  • Jeez I paid $60/hour for jazz piano lessons that were nowhere near as concise, clear, and interesting as what you present here. This is great!

  • @makitfunkee I always appreciated it when someone showed me something new, so I'll just pass it along. Thanks.

  • Great!! More Bill Evans than Bill Evans!!

  • @organham Bill Evans was the best!

  • Fabulous left brain awakening to what our right brain awakenings instinctively let loose when we realize there's no such thing as a mistake (especially if you play it twice!) sincerely DrFBM

  • @DrFBM There is something to the whole right brain thing. Thx.

  • Wow, You are the best jazz piano teacher, you harmony very rich i leke you Bravo i thanks

  • Thumbs up if you saw this in 2011

  • Very handy, indeed.

  • The comment about the diminished runs at 4:30 is a guitar lick. On guitar you can use one shape for all 12 five chords, just move it 3 frets for each inversion. Great video + description of what you're doing.

  • Hey Sir, that´s really inspiring!!! Thanks for posting!!! Cheers from Brazil
