This is a test showing the effect a Lifter has on smoke swirlling around within the region of Ion Wind.

  • stick it in a vacume..mythbusters confirms no lift in a vacume ie:is an ion wind device..

  • ..... Other words of this so called phenomenon is a Electro-thermal-dynamic thruster.

Charges travel from the wire to the aluminum in a form of ions. The ions move the air molecules with it which in term create thrust

  • @UnderManlac Yes, TT Brown had a device and so did Searl. Beamshipcaptain keeps mentioning the lift provided is several orders of magnitude above what is produced by ion wind alone. Any thoughts on this as I am a relative rookie.

  • @Cloudy2Clear No, it's just ion wind. Back in the 1920s, a young man named Thomas Townsend Brown discovered that if he charged a capacitor with high voltage direct current, the capacitor would exhibit thrust in the direction of the + positive electrode

  • @Activation2012 Actually, the smoke will follow the air that is being carried by the ions in the downward direction. If the device produces it's own gravity, then the smoke would gather in the gravity field, making a smoke bubble that is encompassed by the gravity field.

Those who believe it is anti-gravity have no idea what gravity is. It's a very easy concept that has been proven by experiment.

  • Heres an experiment with the lifter which I believe would disprove either anti-gravity or ionic wind once and for all.. here is my thought for an experiment. Get a clear sealing 2 litre plastic pop botttle and remove any labels....smaller bottle of the same nature may be neccessary depending on height and fill it till it looks half full of smoke...a bong may be better lol....but since smoke like to rise and gravity likes to pull...then if smoke is up then ionic wind...smoke down then gravity

  • wonder if you blow herb smoke into it what would happen

  • Place a box fan on it's back and support the edges with a chair. Place a lifter on top & power up the fan. Do the smoke test. Then power up the lifter also and do another smoke test. I'm curious to see which way, where, and how the smoke "flows". There is more to this effect than ion wind. That is why this technology went "black" in the early 1950's. Please do this experiment. I'll sub so I don't miss it. Thanks for your time. Peace.

  • @UnderManlac - I agree. To make the lifter even lighter, someone at ESJ did an experiment using a very thin film of aluminum over a thin plastic membrane, and the ions "ate" trace lines through the aluminum, breaking the electrical circuit, and causing the lifter to fail.

  • @lorenzogemma You're about a year late with that little tidbit. But Kudos for the effort! =)

  • @L00NGB00W:

sorry the aluminium foil is connected to electric wire and it has a charge (oscillating as the wire).

The polarity is irrilevant for AC current!

    You know nothing!

  • congratulations, you have built a flying ion source

clearly, the design can be improved, but as a first version is good enough
