Pieces from this company are few and far between, especially in 18 kt yellow gold - highly collectible. In the early 1940's, the United Artists movie company licensed Rice Weiner to produce the "Etrusceana" jewelry collection which was inspired by such films as "Thief of Bagdad" and the jungle book. The jewelry in the movies are in the style of Etruscan revival, this jewelry has a lot of the fabulous detail from Etruscan artifacts, which other jewelry makers had not been able to capture. This particular piece was made in 18 kt and probably belonged to one of the principals.
