Can draw agaisnt Fischer is a win really..

What I don't get is, most of the game you said Tal was better, or at least after the oversight by fischer. Then suddenly Tal is the exchange down, and forcing a draw. Why is that? When did Tal lose his edge? I don't think I heard you say he made a weak move or something...Or was that edge never enough to make a win? Anyone knows?

Impressive.
I like young Fischer... it seems he had more creational style... his battles against Tal was titanic... even draw were best games.
If not mistaken, the only loss Fischer analises in his book, it's exactly against Tal...

Thanks, good commentary! Take Care, Buddy.
Sean, when you say Tal had a plus score against Fischer, how do you mean? Basically, how many times did they play and what are the stats?

Well, if you look online at chessgames it says they are tied 4-4 with an additional 5 draws. However, this includes two blitz wins of Fischers. So, in proper time controls, it is in fact 4-2 to Tal. But it should be added that most of Tal's wins came when he was at his peak and Fischer was still very young - maybe 15 or 16. Fischer was a brilliant player at that age, but not quite yet eclipsing Tal. Both taken at their peaks, most would agree that Fischer was stronger. All the best,
Sean
