There's caution, and then there's paranoia. Even if you are unfortunate enough to feel unsafe at an airport when someone different is around, it's not something you say aloud, especially on national TV.

It wasn't a racist remark. He's free to say whatever is on his mind - remember the First Amendment? NPR are a bunch of left-wing windbags anyway, and Juan Williams is too smart for those losers. No one got attacked by his remarks, let alone a whole group of people, whose sole purpose in life is to convert or kill everyone who doesn't practice their false religion.

continued..You are only free to say what is politically correct or suits the purposes/agendas of other people. Juan simply stated his opinion, in discussion, and I think you might agree that even in this country which has become quite a police state, we should still be free to voice our opinion. I think it is people like you that are helping our government systematically take away all our rights, by not recognizing the facts.

I think it ironic that a "black man" is fired for a racist remark. I guess in a way I am happy to see that even black people can occasionally be held to the same standards to us white are ALWAYS held to. However, I completely disagree that he should have been fired or that is remarks "incendiary" or that he "attacked" any one. I guess this proves what I strongly believe that there really isn't free speech in this country any more.

Of course when a journalist/commentator's comments are incendiary to a whole group of people that include about 1.6 billion all over the world, then his employer has every right to fire him/her. Plus there's always a line we as human beings should never cross in the name of free speech, especially when it attacks a huge group of people unfairly.

Juan Williams and others who think like that are idiots because for one, there is no such thing as "Muslim garb"! However, there is such thing as cultural garb like Arab/North African garb or Pakistani/Indian garb, but no such thing called "Muslim garb".

I guess NPR doesn't believe in free speech or respect Mr. Williams First Amendment rights.

That is exactly why I stopped donating/supporting NPR a long time ago. The forgot their demographics and have become this super liberal democrat ass kissing bunch of idiots. They should realize that black in the "hood" don't listen to NPR. Now that is not to say that the only democrats are blacks in the hood, but NPR was built by the loyalty and backing of a more conservative well-educated group, who typically were Republicans.
