Hi John, Do you have any other footage of Wick Station area? I'm building a 00 gauge replica of the station around 70's - 80's. I have been looking for pictures etc to give me a visual image of buildings and layout. I am from Wick originally and can remember certain things, but need as much info as possible?
Can you Help?
Regards
Willie

One of my favourite holiday journeys, especially the bit across the "flow country". I first took this train in 1979, when the purple signs were still there. Once I was with a group of Germans, and at a point near Altnabreac one of them said "my God bless, zis must be ze most loneliest place in Scotland". The sight of the station in the middle of nowhere was quite a shock to him.

Wonderful to see this. I live in Orkney and I always view the Northbound journey as the return. I wish I could do the journey more often. Great to see this archive footage!
