  • Êtes-vous appeler ma mère une pikey?!

Êtes-vous appeler mon père un gippo?!

  • somehow i understood every word lauren said

  • JE SUIS BOVVERD?!

  • @E084837P Actually, it's 65%. After the battle of Hastings, when the French ruled Britain, all the nobles had to speak French. This was the turning point from old to middle English. The effect of that actually altered the language, making English from a Germanic language to the bastard-child of Latin and English, which is why it's so hard to learn. And Catherine Tate is awesome.

  • I wish I could act like that to my French teacher! And @EO84837P "il faut que parler français" means "you have to speak French.

  • in class..

    i become LAURENCOOPER!

  • @E084837P

Of course Britons know that their language has been derived from latin and greek and french and others. Speech and languages are formed over time. Latin, greek and french are formed from other languages too. I'm sure you could date all languages back to cave man speech!

What really annoys me are the majority of the bloody americans seem to think the english language belongs to them. Is all they've done to the language is totally fucked it up so it sounds horrible with their accents.

  • good point, I should have mentioned "actually" instead :)

  • @E084837P Stereotype, euphemism and many others are actually Greek my friend.

  • And I was wondering if Britons were really ignorant of the fact that 50 percent of English words are originally French or Latin words?! Like "notice", "correct", "sentence", "subject", "stereotype", "reputation", "refined", "euphemism", "ignorant", "percent", "originally"...

    Funny sketch though
