i dont think the solution is to have more electric cars. they're out now and no one really buys them. why? because they're too fucking expensive. the solution is to find a new fuel that can run on current engines that produces little to no emissions. that way instead of a couple hundred thousand people buying some hybrids and electrics, you have a couple hundred million running on a low emission fuel using their current car.

how about if everyone decided to stop being single minded, and if majority demanded, they knew they'd buy if a 20,000$ electric car that can carry four, you'd buy it in a snap.

I would buy a 15,000 toyota echo sized electric car. If they offered that car in that option, potentially the mechanisms in a fully electric vehicle has less material needs then a combustion, weight costs money. . . As to follow same price - pay for gas or not pay for gas all the same - so what you get is a stereotype. The technology has been around for decades, and this is the push that declares victory.

to tell you the truth, i wouldn't buy an electric car at all. im just going to go invent a car that runs on salt water and emissions are water. i just couldn't live with a car thats quieter than a bicycle when it passes you.

Electric cars are expensive for two main reasons: technology and low volume manufacturing

Petrol cars were much more expensive than electric cars are now as a proportion of the average person's income when they first came out. The only way to bring the price down is to start developing them and start selling them. Electricity as a fuel is considerably cheaper than petrol and it makes sense that this is the future of the car.

In 10years time, hopefully, all we'll be able to buy is Hybrids or Electric.

It'll be like a snowball, once it gets moving it'll gain lots of momentum and all the companies will get on board...hopefully!

Oh! thank the lord, our car companies have ironically saved us from the oil cartels just in the last hour. Oh glory be to them. We mushrooms,The truth is they've had this tech. for a very very long time as well as other tech they hide, none the less we will soon be out from under the arab hatchet. When that happens and they cant sell us all their oil, which is all they have to sell except nuclear tech, then watch out that is what they will sell. sand doesn't pay and olives only go so far.

I like the idea, but I wish Ford made the taurus into a electric car!
