@PlayboyofWrestling I agree. I also must add, Adonis had some classic bloody battles with Bob Backlund in the 80s. His tag team with Dick Murdoch seemed odd at first, but ended up a winner in their battles against Rotundo/Windham. Adonis was a tough guy. He didn't do his "Adorable" gimmick until the end of his life--and even then he sold tons of tickets. Great wrestler. He was better than any of today's guys by a long shot.

When I watched him wrestle in person , a smart promoter made sure to never allow Putski to lose PHYSICALLY. He might lose OFFICIALLY (disq or his tag partner got pinned) but Ivan had to hit or beat on the retreating opponent to keep a riot from ensuing following the bout. he was that popular. When he won, he had to have flattened the opponent, not out manuevered him with a fancy pin as well. This helped define Ivan Putski. His toughest opponent i ever saw was on tv. It was Bugsy Mcgraw.

Putski definitely had a way of making you pay attention! He was great...I used to love how he'd always steal the microphone from the ring announcer and shout whatever was on his mind---usually "POOOOLISH POOOWWERRRR!!!"
