Why is everyone concerned with Catholics opposing him speaking. You know he can speak somewhere else. There are alot of universities in the U.S. Christians are not against stem-cell research, their against Embryonic stem-cell research.

Ack, that came out wrong... I didn't mean "reducing the number of abortions on the Notre Dame campus", I meant that I would support his speaking at Notre Dame about reducing the number of abortions in the U.S.

Would anyone expect the Sierra Club to award/honor a politician who is fighting for more offshore drilling?
Of course not. As Catholics, we unequivocally oppose most of the principal details in the President's record and agenda on Abortion and Stem Cell research.
By all means invite him to engage in dialogue about reducing the number of abortions on the Notre Dame Campus, but please don't bestow an honorary degree upon him. He may be my leader, but he is certainly not my champion.
