THIS WOMEN JUST BECAME MY HERO!!!!!!!!!!! I dont think there should be any bans on guns, however I do beleive there should be restrictions on who recieves them. Facts on Austailian "Gun Control".

In the state of Victoria alone, homicides with firearms are now up 300 percent. (Note that while the law-abiding citizens turned them in, the criminals did not and criminals still possess their guns!) While figures over the previous 25 years showed a steady decrease in armed robbery with firearms, this has changed drastically upward in the past 12 months, since the criminals now are guaranteed that their prey is unarmed.

There is now 100,000 depleted uranium babies over there from the last 10 years of 800+ tons of DU and that number will grow for the next 4 billion yrs! I remember this incident very well, I really feel for ms. Hupp. She is a class act lady.

I hope no one on either side of the gun control issue forget what tragedies this country has witnessed not as mere incidents we use to prove out positions. Thanks for your thoughtful comments, BrockUNC. Back in 1993 Gary Kleck showed that as many as 2.5 million crimes are thwarted each year in the U.S. from the private ownership of firearms... and in most cases the potential victim never gas to fire a shot.

No private citizen in the U.S. is required to carry a firearm, and if they chose to do so they'd be wise to train in its safety and use. For each responsible person who does so, that problem of yours is reduced.

The problem is that for every incident where if someone had a gun they might have saved lives, there are numerous incidents where people were accidentally killed or injured by someone owning one. Honestly its a much more complex issues than either side portrays it and there probably is no ideal situation. But the idea of going back to the wild west where everyone carries guns around I think demonstrates the weakness of the guns would save lives argument.

"The Right to Bear Arms" is the difference between citizens and subjects. Laws only apply to good people so you bet your ass that bad people would still have guns. Knife vs. gun looses every time. I'm sick of Liberal pacifists thinking we can have Utopia under total Gov. control. Pacifism was how Hitler did what he did. The Founding Fathers (God Bless them) wrote the Constitution to prevent the government from having too much control. The Gov. should depend on us, not the other way around.
