GREATEST. FILM. EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
It really is a shame Bruce feels like that about Withnail. He could be remembered for a LOT worse. Withnail, in my opinion, is the GREATEST and the FUNNIEST film EVER made. I have NEVER laughed so much whilst watching a film or any other film.
I think the reason he feels so bitter towards the film is because of the people who own it. Thats what he said anyway during an interview on the Withnail and I DVD. Shame really because I would be immensely proud to be the creator of such a great film.

Richard E Grant hardly aged!
Bruce Robinson seems a bit sad that he's not credited much for not ever topping his first effort, but this film is like The Beatles of comic films, they just got the right people together for that brief span of time and made something brilliant, a gestalt of words and delivery that can't be repeated, nor should such things be attempted. All involved are great talents, but they just hit all the right notes in this one. An irreplaceable piece of cinema history: a film that never gets old.
