There have been many population collapses in history: the starvation of the Akkads, the fall of the Egyptian old Kingdom, the collapse of the Western Roman Empire, the disappearence of the Mayans, the fall of the Aztecs, the fall of Angkor Wat, Easter Island etc. yet they have all been localised calamities - terribly devastating but harmless to other parts of the world due to its previously divided nature.

Today we are a global village, if it collapses there will be depopulation everywhere!

What hidden reserves? Are you talking about what one kook is claiming, for which there is no corroboration that I could find? Are you going to stake your future, and the future of civilization, on rumors of hidden vast reserves? It's so easy to believe conspiracy theories. It's far harder to transition away from oil. But that is what we must do, sooner or later. I say, sooner. Don't force the problem on our children.
