Metroid Prime is a video game developed by Retro Studios and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo GameCube, released in North America on November 17, 2002. It is the first 3D game in the Metroid series, and is classified by Nintendo as a first-person adventure rather than a first-person shooter, due to the large exploration component of the game. In North America, it was also the first Metroid installment to be released since Super Metroid in 1994; in all other markets, it was released after Metroid Fusion.

Metroid Prime is the first of the three part Prime storyline, which takes place between the original Metroid and Metroid II: Return of Samus. Like previous games in the series, Metroid Prime has a science fiction setting, in which players control the bounty hunter Samus Aran. The story follows Samus as she battles the Space Pirates and their biological experiments on the planet Tallon IV.

Despite initial backlash from fans due to the first-person perspective, the game was released to both critical and commercial success, selling more than a million units in North America alone and becoming one of the most acclaimed games of all time. In 2009, an enhanced version was released for Wii as a standalone game in Japan and as part of Metroid Prime: Trilogy internationally.

Metroid Prime: Trilogy is an action-adventure video game compilation developed by Retro Studios and published by Nintendo for the Wii video game console. It features Metroid Prime, Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, and Metroid Prime 3: Corruption on a single dual-layer disc. The former two, which were originally released for the Nintendo GameCube, have been updated with many of the features that were first implemented in the latter. It was released in North America on August 24, 2009, the UK on September 4, 2009, and in Australia on October 15, 2009. It comes packaged in a metal tin (only available in the North America release), contains an art booklet, and includes other features. Managing Director of Nintendo Australia, Rose Lappin, said in an interview that there are a few surprises "in the book" for the game's Australian PAL release.

If you didn't have a place to hide, I think the battle might be a little bit more difficult especially if he always tried to home in on you when performing a roll out.

Spider Man Ball, yay, shoot webs out your butt Samus, I mean uh... use gravity to your advantage but it's required to beat the game I'm sure and collecting a bunch of power ups.

I wonder what you'll do when you run into pirates... SHOOT THEM XP

@LaZodiac Don't forget the wave cannon that gets you through purple doors and the fact you needed double jump to progress as well in some areas...

Rubble is rubble, rock is rock, it all looks the same and yet... different. Save stations are always nice. Moving on to explore some more. This game feels like fable in a way, because each area is pretty linear and no real free-roaming but at least you have decent sized environments to navigate and play through.

Wow, that magma sure did ... *insert crude sexual joke here* to Samus as it ate one full energy tank of health. =)
