I would also recommend Tessin, genf and Lausanne, maybe even Basel depends on the mood the poeple have there :P
I live in Zurich, and glad at that! I wouldn't want to live anywhere else, even though I'm portuguese :)

I've been visiting Zurich since 1990 and everytime I go there I fall more in love with Zurich than the time before. Be sure to take some amazing day trips as well. Two of my favorites cities close by are Berne and, Zug. If you've never been to Zurich, you must go! It's everything you'd imagine and more.

I was in Zurich 3 years ago and it's a real nice city
and I hope someday I'll live there
one thing for sure is, when I was there, it was really pricey, but well wroth every buck to go there

Just like "estellebaeriswyl" I was surprised you would eat Fondue as an appetizer! We (and everybody else I know here in Switzerland) eat Fondue as the main course and we usually don't eat any appetizers or desserts because we keep eating Fondue aaaall night long. :-D
But if you really need a dessert afterwards... try "Schoggifondue" (chocolate Fondue). ;-) Soooo delicious!

you call fondue an appetiser?!!! you must have some appetite! anyway the best fondue can be eaten in fribourg, I believe tourists should also check out the western and southern part of switzerland, in that way you can also experience the variety of culture switzerland offers

Don't forget the dark side of life. Zurich got some darksides too, like people are working too much and so on. Anyway Zurich is the best place to party in the world !
