  • @MrKite053 I sort of thought "Catch Me in the Meadow" was more typical of a "sound" from these broad range of talent guys. voices and harmonies as good as The Beach Boys doesn't make a group surf, even though that is the lyric of this piece ...

The Girl from Greenwich Village (yet another totally different feel)

  • @desertrat1111 Your actually wrong,I knew these guys and this was their first hit,yes it has a west coast sound to it,but this is the only tune they did with that kind of sound. Listen to them do Mind Excursion,a great song. That was more, their sound.

  • @desertrat1111 Nor really. Surf sound was just that--a sound. Yes, Brian Wilson created and developed it, but it was sound, just as the Glenn Miller sound in the 40's was a sound that many bands adapted. But the sound was not developed by Glenn Miller. Other bands utilized the sax/clarinet harmony. Even later, for example, in the 60s, some groups tried to use the Beatles sound. They couldn't get it right But the surf sound was fairly easy to try.

  • I was just a child then, but I miss the 1960s. So many great music programs.

  • Beach Boy wannabes

  • @l1nkh0gthr0b At that time in 1965 the British Invasion was kicking ass and taking names that's my guess.

  • does anyone have photos of The Tradewinds, even stills? please write.

it's Christmas and New York's still a lonely town ...
