Rescue 911 does away with their familiar serious instrumental theme music and adopts a custom rendition of a classic Motown standard - "Rescue Me". It's in the same pitch as the the show's usual theme, so you'll find it fits in quite well!

This track of "Rescue Me" was actually used as the title theme to NBC's short-lived Robert Guillaume sitcom Pacific Station (1991-92).

  • no i wouldn't think so because that song references loneliness and not rescues, great song though.

  • It's all in how you interpret it. True, you do hear "..'cause i'm lonely"; however, much of the lyrics are ambiguous, and could easily be related to someone's desperation for a hero in a time of need, no matter if it's in terms of love and companionship or of a life and death situation. If you watch and listen closely, there are certain lyrics which fit exactly with some of the opening visuals.

  • Here's another ambiguous song example "I Need A Hero".

  • what was that ephisode at the back?

  • Great job! :)

  • This would have been a great alternate opening for Rescue 911. Very nice work here.
