They do have the right to say that American Idol isn't looking for someone who sings in the style of classic country. However, he was good and his performance was very nice, just about as good as you are going to get for that particular song without having George Jones sing it himself or rewriting it in a different style. I do feel sorry for the man especially since you are right and "Be careful" is a common souther saying that's basically just saying "be safe, I don't want you to get hurt".
