This one was shot at about 1 frame every 5 seconds. I used a screen capture program to snap the shots using a cheap webcam - which is why the video quality is so poor. :-)
That's a good analogy - the atmosphere flows very much like water, the only real difference being its density. As a fellow cloud watcher I'm sure you've already figured this out, but its surprising how many people don't make the connection. Anyone who flies (pilots especially) understand this all too well.
