  • Yeah? I guess I'd rather rub my balls on a Gibson than an Epiphone any ol' day.

  • Ya know what's funny? The fact that your comment is honestly valid and what the whole review thing should be about. It wasn't meant to be the only truth about the EPI guitar. Everyone saying their take on it makes this youtube thing real. It's one man's opinion that resulted in over 300 comments.

  • I'm uneducated. What does IMHO really mean to you?

  • I'm back to comment on my own review. I took a lesson the other day from a pro I consider better than myself and he was playing an EPI Joe Pass proof that it's in the hands and not the instrument. That may be true for some people but not me sorry. When you go into a shop of guitars they have a selection for a reason. People's taste are different. I'm totally spoiled in that when I was a kid these instruments were affordable. Now they're not.

  • @johnhguitar

Thankyou for the fair review. What do You suggest to buy in the same range of price? Ibanez maybe? Thankyou again.

  • A few of my students have Ibanez guitars and they seem well made and the price very good. There's really nothing wrong with the EPI it's just people saying that they're as good as a Gibson which I don't think is true.

  • @johnhguitar Life is too short to let 3 years slip by while waiting for a more expensive guitar.

  • So the epiphone emperror Li joe is bad guitar to buy for $440?Why is that?

  • Its a great guitar! the reviewer was blinded by his Gibson and spends all his time rubbing his balls on it! Dont be Blinded its a great guitar with a sweet sound. ;-) x

  • It's funny because listening to the reviewer made me think the guitar was junk but when he played it the sound made my hair stand on end! I just got one of these and it's a great guitar regardless of the price!

  • @johnhguitar I have an Epiphone ES-175, cost me $350. Last week I played a 1968 Gibson. ES-175, selling for $3,500. The Gibson is a better instrument. But, its not 10 times better, IMHO.

  • As far as jazz, what type of guitar that you play is not an issue. A knowledgable, talented player will sound good no matter what the headstock says. Guitarists are embarrassing to the extent they worry about the instrument. A solid foundation of theory, listening, and practice will take you as far as you want or are capable. Unless you are a professional making a living with your gear, stay away from high end instruments. The Epi is more than enough guitar for the hobbyist.
