http://hasebikes.com : Cycling is cool. Cycling is climate protection. And who protects the cyclist's climate? The German specialized bike manufacturer Hase. Its KLIMAX makes trike mobility even more comfortable and efficient: The new e-trike has a Foldable Fairing. The perfect cycling climate for the climate protector.
Environmental protection and CO2-free mobility should be fun in any weather. At least that's what the people at Hase Spezialräder believe. On the occasion of Eurobike 2010 (September 4th open for the public), Hase will be launching "Project KLIMAX" with the introduction of its new trike model, the KLIMAX 2K. Basis: the cult trike Kettwiesel. This trike has always been an all-rounder for touring and fun tracks. Now, with electric assist from a Protanium front hub, it's a real Pedelec, opening up an even wider variety of uses -- for example, for long, sweat-free commutes to work. The special highlight of this model, however, is Hase's new Foldable Fairing. It can be mounted in less than a minute and is adjustable to the size of the rider.
The functional material is of ripstop quality, ultralight, extremely durable, and -- thanks to impregnation and polyacrylate coating -- waterproof.
And when the convertibles have their tops down, the fairing can be quickly removed, folded to a manageable size and stowed away in the Hase luggage bag.
A good-weather-maker for pleasure riders and climate protectors
As with all specially developed Hase products, the technical brilliance lies in the details: The fairing is mounted using special push-in connectors, requiring no tools. The design is aerodynamic and even diverts rain away from the rider's head when traveling at higher speeds.
In terms of handling, this weather-ready speedster is identical to the beloved cornering machine Kettwiesel, meaning: outstanding riding dynamics and mind-blowing fun with all the safety of a well-engineered trike.
Heads-up for speed demons: Hase is already at work on an S-class KLIMAX: A powerful 500-watt motor will propel this climate protector at speeds of up to 45 km/h (28 mph). In Germany, this high-speed model requires licensing and registration.
The KLIMAX 2K will be presented at Eurobike 2010 (September 4th open for the public) at Hase's stand in the Open Air Grounds, Booth FG-B8/1.
This is the best winter bike I have seen so far. Maneuverable, robust, with weather protection... What more can you wish for - time to start saving up for it.

@andersloberg1: At the Kettwiesel, spray from below is a minor issue. The water adheres at the front tire and leaves it into FORWARD direction, from there it is blown upwards un a sharp U-turn. The spray comes from the front.

@andersloberg1: I think the protection from the road is not as good as a velomobile, but it has fenders!

OK for rain from top, but what about spray from the road? What about an under-tent too? This is not working in Bergen, the main city of rain....
