ROBO-ONE J 7: Demonstration Event

The 7th ROBO-ONE J Competition took place in early August in Kawasaki, Japan. The first stage of the event requires a 2 minute autonomous "demonstration" by each contestant. The demonstrations are scored by a panel of expert judges, and only the top scoring robots are allowed to compete in the head to head battles in the ring. Actually, the ROBO-ONE Demonstration events are all autonomous - no remote control allowed. Later, for the 1:1 matches in the ring where they try to knock each other down, they use remote controls.

Many have a misconception that if they see ANY robot, it's a de facto toy.
