This fims deals with white supremacy, self hatred, intergration, lynching, class and many other issues we still have in our community.
I ask at the end of the movie for you brothers and sisters to tell me who is wrong and who is right and what is the cause of their pain hate anger and frustration?

Adolph Caesar deserved an Oscar for his performance,
no matter how much one despised his role. .
Denzel Washington debut was impacting also, but this belonged to Mr. Caesar.

Sarge tore out the frame.. 2:25.........This movie and The Color Purple really captured the "Black Essence". Both movies dealt with Black self hate and mistrust.....and right now, black self-hate is at a all time high.
I can deal with racism form other races, i expect it, but when it comes from my own kind...it really messes my head up.

This movie and the Color Purple were brutally snubbed at the Oscar's. These were two of the most blatant examples of racism in Oscar history.

Adolph Caesar was a brilliant actor, Denzel really was magnificent in this movie. One can feel the pain and emotion from these actors

This is by far my favorite movie. The social commentaries that are played out are so powerful that many do not recognize them in the movie or themselves. I am a teacher who use this in a psychology and a sociology course to examine some past and present mindsets.
