Frédéric Chopin (1810-1849)

Mazurka, Op. 41; No. 1 in C sharp minor

Written in 1839.

Garrick Ohlsson, piano

Recorded in 1970. Live at the 8th Chopin International Piano Competition in Warsaw.

ClassicalRecords is a Youtube channel where I upload some excellent performances from the LPs in my collection. I'm uploading these LPs because they are either not available on CD, out of print on CD, or just difficult to find.

No wonder I always get these confused with each other.

This mazurka is sometimes placed last and the other three bumped up one. This is the case for two of the three sets I own (ironically, one of them being the complete Ohlsson set). It is even numbered that way in the booklets. Very annoying.

  • @Qvtm No, it's op. 41 No. 1.

  • This actually is Op.41 No. 4. The fourth works of his sets of four tend to be slower as a rule of thumb for the mazurkas

  • Ohhhhhh... Love it ! Thank youuuuuuu
