  • For the love of...why didn't they have The Shadow 'turn invisible'? Would have been an EASY 'effect', just audio of his voice, an occasional shadow on a wall and wires to move objects, if need be (think of 'The Invisible Man' with Claude Raines, etc)...instead we get 'The Shadow' appearing from a skylight, landing and announcing 'YES! The SHADOW!' and JUST STANDING there, LOL...what a missed opportunity...;(

  • this take me back to the late 40&50s when on Saturdays i went to the movies just to watch the cliffhanger serial. also we must not forget buck jones,Roy and gene Tim McCoy, hoppy rock lane those were the days

  • "Who knows what evil lurks in the heart of men? The Shadow Knows! and "The weed of crime bears bitter fruit. Crime does not pay! The Shadow knows! Any more of this serial for you tube?

  • Name calling aside, it's actually "Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts and minds of men? The Shadow knows!" Going by the radio show. Great vid! ***** Fav!!! Thanks for uploading!

  • This was the 1940 "chapter-play" based on the famous "pulp fiction" character featured in Street & Smith's most popular magazine, and concurrent radio hero, heard on the Mutual Network every Sunday afternoon....

  • I enjoy playing my lasombra who becomes the shadow in the old world of darkness and victor jorgy fits it

  • Let me get this straight. The Shadow who has the power to make himself invisible and cloud men's minds in broad daylight, the first thing the bad guys do when confronted by him is kill the lights for a guy after them dressed in black?

Now I know crime doesn't pay. It can't even afford basic common sense one oh one.

Victor Jory, mostly the best villian in town, gets to be the good guy with that great voice of his. Must have serial.
