Hey! Great playing!!!
When you play rock - being a jazzman - do you then follow the chords or do you focus on playing scales?

Thank you for your nice words...in this case I think in terms of 'key area', and let my ears do the rest. Transcribing solos by ear is probably the best exercise to learn how to do that. To transcribe by ear you have to connect your ears-brain-fingers-knowlege of the instrument...good luck and thanks for watching!

Thanks for the advice. I have just begun transcribing and I must say that it really pays off. Do you write it down in tabs or in notes when you transscribe - or do you just listen and play?
And can I ask you, what your main rock/pop-guitar influences are. I really like your phrasing, so maybe I can pick up some stuff listening to them.
Kind regards Esben

Learn different ways of writing things down, it pays off in the end. Influences...probably too many...for this stuff I'd say Clapton, Robben Ford, all the classic blues/rock guys. I am a big fan of Mike Landau as far as this style of playing.
