NORTH INDIAN PUNJABI THALI

Mint Chutney
Lime Pickle
Mango Chutney
Carrot, Cucumber & Beetroot Salad
Pickled Shallots
Lemon Wedge
Red Onion Raitha
Chicken Tikka Masala
Amritsari Fish Korma
Punjabi Palak Paneer
Jeera Potatoes
Carrot Halwa
Vegetable Samosa
Tandoori Chicken Drumstick
Lamb Sheekh Kebab
Onion Pakora
Saffron Pilau Rice
Panchratan (Five Flour) Chappati
Black Pepper Poppadum
Masala Lassi
Mango Juice
Drinking Water

The intention is to create a perfect PUNJABI THALI, which is not over portioned or super sized that you can't eat all the dishes. Also, to create a thali, which is colourful, well presented, nutritious, less oily, less messy and all the dishes (including rice, roti and papad) are presented in the thali plate itself. Excluding Pickle and Papad, I made all the dishes.

  • I would not eat the meat, but your thalis look very good

    you made me hungry!!

how long did you take to prepare all this??

    make some cooking video!!

  • @originalkikisound

Thanks for your comment. I prepared all the dishes in one go. I think about in 4 to 5 hours. Planned the menu in advance, did shopping couple of days before, seasoned the meat overnight and made the sauces first. I cooked for six. All had wonderful time. I too wish to make cooking video. But, don't have time. May be I will do it soon. Just need the right energy and time I suppose. I wish to cook a Rajasthani Thali.

  • Who made this food? Love the presentation. But, the video could have ended in 45 secs tops.

  • @radbcc

Thanks for your comment. I made this thali. The food was amazing. I told my friend to take the video for only 60 seconds. But, he took it for 162 seconds!

  • Do you just take videos of food or do you also eat them lol? I must admit thats one hell of a thali uma shankar...Where did you get it from? Its been a long time since I have eaten an autentic punjabi thali. I have just finshed eating dinner but after wathcing this video I have worked up an appetite I guess...

    Thanx...

  • I like taking videos and photos of food. Eat them too! I was fed up of eating messy, unorganised, disappointing and over priced thalis. So, I prepared the menu and cooked all THREE of them. I am afraid that you can't get these thalis anywhere else until I open my thali restaurant! Recently I have modified the composition of all three thalis. There is a saying in Tamil that those who like good food live happy and live longer. Thank you for your comment.

  • pls dont post such videos. they create problem or ppl who r hungry at midnight and craving for real Indian food in a foreign country :( gimme this thali or KILL Me

  • im dying to have this food!!

  • The presentation is superb. Love the way you carefully put all of these dishes in perfect balance. You make a very successful business out of this :) very neat!

  • @atheismius I disagree. North indian food is as nutritious (lots of lentils in north indian food as well) as south indian and south indian food can b as spicy if not more spicy than north indian. Don't confuse restaurant food with home made. Restaurants add ghee, butter, creams to make it tasty so ppl would buy it but it's not the case at home otherwise ppl would b dead.

  • North Indian dishes are spicy.

South Indian dishes are nutritious with so many lentils.

    I like both.

  • @yoursumashankar your guests must have been in heaven!!

I send you energy, can´t send you time...

    haha

    good luck master!
