Irish state forces used against the people of Ireland to facilitate the the 420,000,000,000 euro givaway of our natural resources by Fianna Fáil to Multinational Shell ,Statoil E&P. Isn't it time to put tens of billions of potential net worth back on the table?.

"Over the last ten years via various EU treaties we have relinquished our right to formulate and articulate our own independent Foreign policy, added to that we have now effectively given up the right to formulate our own economic policy. But arguably the most shameful act of all by this Government was the giving away of our oil and gas resources, the very means that would have given us a sustainable exit strategy from the worst economic crisis in the history of the country,.



Everything is up for grabs it seems, except the billions worth of gas and oil off our coasts -- including the Corrib field -- the royalties for which were given away in successive Fianna Fail deals.

Isn't it time to put tens of billions of potential net worth back on the table?

As I read these comments, you Irish folk sound like us American folk: Pissed off at our corrupt governments bankrupting our countries and leaving the citizens in the dust. I sympathize and understand how you feel. This corruption is world wide, and if we people do not unite to stop it, I don't want to even think of the consequences. We seem to be united in mind as we all see the corruption in the governments of the world. The question is what are we going to do about it?

I always hoped that Irish oil would remain with the Irish people,but the whole world cannot live with out oil,they are addicted to it,with out oil,you have war,the four biggest powers in the world are,America,Britiain,China,Rus­sia,the rest will be taken out one by one,as oil deminishes,they have not yet come up with an Idea that resolves friction,there are non-friction engines,but materials are expensive,as well as machinery,third world war will happen as the greedy demand for oil rises.

It Amazes me that Irish oil is more important than Saudi oil,obviously there is a lack of oil in the world from a British perspective,it looks to me, that it is used to pay off our debts,but debt is just an excuse to get at our resources,if America can get away with attacking libya, and Russia can get away with attacking Georgia over an oil pipe line,then you better believe that Britiain will eaves drop too at some point,the Republicans have every right to stick to their guns.
