Eye of God trailer--this is a must-see movie. Eye of God begins with love blossoming between a small-town girl (Martha Plimpton) and a jail parolee (Kevin Anderson) who's found God during his incarceration. Gradually, we find that things aren't quite right between the two lovers, as she discovers she's pregnant. Meanwhile, a young boy (Nick Stahl) who witnessed a murder stops speaking as a result of the trauma of what he's seen.

One critic wrote that "he didn't like the fractured style of film. You see there are two stories in this film that are told out of chronological order, cutting between them in a way that's disorienting at first, as it is meant to be.

However, there's a clue to the editing in the movie's title: The eyes of God exist outside time and don't need to see stories in chronological order, because they know the beginning, middle and end before the story begins or the characters even exist.

Eye Of God sees its story in the same way--as events that are so interlocked by fate that, in a way, they don't have to happen one after another because they will all happen eventually.

Continuity is supplied by the sheriff (Hal Holbrook), who provides a narration." There is also a fine performance by the always amazing Richard Jenkins, (Nathaniel Fisher in Six Feet Under) who was Nominated for an Oscar forBest Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role for portraying Prof. Walter Vale in The Visitor.

Oh and don't miss Martha Plimpton's other masterpiece, "Running on Empty."

  • i saw this movie too. weird yes. disturbing yes. one flaw. both of her eyes moved and danced around when she talked. anyone with a glass eye like Plimpton's "character" would not move her fake eye so much. you can obviously tell she does not have a glass eye which to me is a major fluuuuuuuuuke!!!!! lol

  • the sherifs office in this movie is the top of my family's store

  • I love Martha Plimpton, especially in this movie!

  • This movie is scary in such a realistic way that it felt traumatizing to watch, but really well done. The main guy in this is a little too convincing.
