I interviewed Dr Francis DuBose at his retirement village ["hotel"] in San Francisco. Dr DuBose was the missions professor at Golden Gate Seminary and one of the leading voices to encourage the focus of minsistry towarsds the inner cities of USA. He first published the word "missional" in his book 'God Who Sends: A Fresh Quest for Biblical Mission' in 1983 and since then, the word has gained international acceptance.
Andrew, Thanks so much for sharing this segment with Dr. DuBose. I had no idea that my old prof used the term in his book before the 1991 use in God's Missionary People. I lost contact a few years after seminary and it was good to be reminded of the profound depth in this brilliant scholar and compassionate mission mind.
