36 years of violence and oppression because of the armed conflict in Guatemala left more than 100,000 dead, 50,000 disappeared, 250,000 orphans, more than 350 communities erased from the map, tens of thousands displaced, and hundreds of indigenous communities destroyed. Clandestine cemeteries are still being uncovered and countless human rights violations are left unpunished. Waves of violence continue to plague the country, affecting women in particular.

  • Como es posible que nunca se dieron cuenta de todo esto que apenas un par de años descubrieron, que clase de leyes hubieron antes, porque masacrar a tanta gente? inocente, ojala y el protagonista de todo esto lo pague muy caro.........

  • So if u air the dirty laundry, u get "punished" Wow, those men who carry out such crimes, must feel like real men, raping & torturing a woman. I wonder how they feel if someone raped & tortured their mothers!! Like the lady said, 'the women's bodies were trophies for the soldiers' Well as long as there r dictators in power, there will be no justice no peace, that is what the U.S brought to Guatemala.
