Cheburashka's Song (English translation)

My english translation of the Cheburashka song. The words aren't a direct translation, but I tried to get the meaning as close to the original as I possibly could, while keeping the English in good form.


Lyrics:

I used to be a nameless, unwanted little store toy
Which no one came to visit to cherish and enjoy :(
But now I'm Cheburashka, and every dog that I pass
By offers, with pleasure, his tiny little paw.

Yes now I'm Cheburashka, and everydog that I pass

At first I didn't realise,
and yet it was no surprise
That no one came to see me,
even on my own Birthday!

But now I have my Gene
His face is one big smile!
Its odd, yes, but he is the World's best crocodile!

Yes, now I'm Cheburashka,
and every dog that I pass
by offers, with pleasure, his tiny little paw.



I know the singing isn't flash, I had a sore throat, and had just come home from Mardi Gras (lots of screaming and cheering- and i was on the float, haha!)

I am learning :) I owe my life to Russians, Soviet, in fact, when I was 18 months old, I was in an accident on an island, and the only ship that would come to my rescue was a Soviet ship. They saved me, and the men gave me a cheburashka doll :)
