ZX Spectrum: Alien 8 14 of 24 Playthrough Part 1/4

My first YouTube video! :-)

Alien 8, (c) Ultimate Play The Game / Ashby Computers And Graphics / Rare / Microsoft / whoever owns them now 1985. You play the titular robot, who is required to collect a load of plugs and stick them in some holes to repair cryogenic chambers and ensure that the cryonauts remain viable during their voyage. Or something.

Looks very Knight Lore, and uses the same engine, but has a bigger map and more puzzles. Which is why I prefer it, even though Knight Lore was more of a landmark and fit in more with the Sabre Man series etcetera.

This game is HARD! Still, this is part one of four, so I must have done something right. Will not be a completion playthrough, sadly (see part 3).

Not much special to report in this one. The first five chambers fixed.

Inspiration for. Ritman and Drummond saw Knight Lore and decided they wanted to do a version - Batman was the first thing they came up with.

You've got to be reasonably quick - the timer isn't that big once you realise you need to average one chamber every 250 light years...
