Native Instruments Massive Tutorial Pt 2 :: Talking Bass Sequencing

Dubspot Instructor Heinrich Zwahlen explores creative possibilities of Massive, Native Instruments synthesizer which is frequently used to create fat bass sounds and intense leads. In this two-part video tutorial, Heinrich focuses on Massive's ability to create speech-like sounds, showing step by step how to create your own variations of the talking synth, or digital mouth harp. The Talking Stepper technique allows you to synthesize original sounds from scratch using Massive, and develop the sound further with the step sequencer, which allows you to make unique mechanical melodies. In part one, Heinrich shows you how to utilize the various parameters of Massive; showing you the basic building blocks, including Oscillator, Filter, Sample & Hold effect, Modulation Oscillator, and of course the Stepper sequencer (which can be selected from the LFO tab) and Performer. In part two, he he sinks deeper, and helping you become more acquainted with the Sequencer.

Do you have to have ableton to take one of the online classes? Because I think a class would be awesome but i only have FL studio right now!

@paintballa5833 No. The Sound Design & Synthesis class requires Komplete 7, and while the course uses a DAW throughout, it is not 100% necessary.

the ratio of my stepper is at 8 and my performer at 16 and my sound ratio is much faster than yours...any idea why?

@basspayer You probably have an older version of Massive, so you'll have to hold down ALT as you move the stepper ;)
