Solution. Entitlements only to those that contribute. No more programs to fund starving overpopulated countries (i could really use that money right now) no more give aways, no more free anything, pay out to those who pay in and the game gets fixed..see socialism doesnt work. If you think it does please send a percentage of your income to me right now and also require eveyone you know to send a percentage. This will work great, i do nothing and you pay my bills yes great idea. Work Hard.

no one said medicare is mandatory

You try taking it away. The pharma companies and the rest of the medical industry that lives off that trough would rally all the old folks to string you up by your thumbs. Everybody wants smaller government, but just don't try to reduce THEIR slice of the pie. Everyone's solution is to cut the OTHER guys entitlement program, whether it's subsidizing religion, housing and feed the poor, subsidizing some farm crop or some military program for local jobs.

Selfish self interest is driving this country down this path. So sad to see a once proud nation that pulled together during hardship now adopting this "every man for himself" attitude.
