My arrangement of this great old tune. Played on my 1964 Gibson nylon string in dropped-D tuning.

  • Wonderfully done and thanks. Nice audio.

Is perchance the Gibson a C-O classic? Mine was such a projecting and loud guitar as this also seems.

  • @Ramadancer ... Thanks for the nice comment. I'm not sure about the model number, it only has the Gibson logo on the headstock and a serial number stamped on the inside. It's a lovely old box.

  • I just discovered your songs on YouTube. You make the guitar sing. I love your expressiveness on this song; wonderful pace, tone, vibrato, and sustain. Lots of guitarists could play the notes, but you inject real feeling into this song.

Can you tell me the name of the song? Also what tuning are you using? DADF#AD or something else?

  • I'm in dropped: DADGBE and he tune is 'Begin the Beguine'.

Thanks for the nice feedback, I appreciate it.

  • I love this song. Cole Porter...must have been an alien. I was looking for this song on acoustic and found your performance among others. I like yours the best. It's beautifully simple. I think Cole Porter would love it.

  • Excellent!

  • I Love this Kirk,Is this available as a lesson? Thanks so much for all the lessons they have helped so much.Bruce

  • So beautiful you and your guitar.. i like very much

  • you just want to listen till the very end.... thanks...

  • Excellent!!

  • I've been working up a version of this tune. I usually check youtube first and listen to all the "oldie" versions. In doing so, I thought, "I wonder how this tune would work in the key of D." The tune has been recorded in almost any key imaginable. I like your version.... good work!

  • Your playing is so good, the arrangement is superb, and you're neither typically classical, jazz or fingerstyle - where does your music originate?

    Really good,

    Clive Davies

  • FANTASTICA :-))))

    I LOVE THIS!!!

  • How very, very sweet it is! Thank you for posting, it brought colors into an old expat's day...
