The Father or the One True God in both the OT and NT refers to YHWH and Deut 6:4 says that YHWH is echad 1 not compound 1. If we read any text whether the Bible or any other book we must use the same thought process grammatical/numeric logic. 1 God in any other book means 1 God but when we read the Bible the 1 God suddenly means 1 Being 3 co -equal co -eternal persons? Huh? He are Three They is One defies objective grammatical logic and breaks all rules as to word meaning(s)!

One reads and exegetes either Oneness Modalism or some implicit type of character distinction. The use of Ton Theon and theos makes it clear that both are Gods but they are Gods in different ways belonging to an ageless relationship. If Jesus Joh 8:58 using Ego Eimi means YHWH's Exo 3:14 Ego Eimi aren't we conflating the sacred cow of Being and Person distinction. The Son is the Father the Son is not the Father?
-
The Ego Eimi sayings of Jesus/Logos do not mean that he is identifying himself with YHWH a claim never once stated in the Bible. Joh 1:1 In the beginning "of God the Father's creative works" was the Word "the Word was already existing" and the Word was with (The) God and ()God was the Word "Divine or like God" If the Word was with (The) God and theos was the Word can you make the Logos(The) God himself why not just say it? Ton Theon and theos sounds awfully like two separate beings to me.

The Ego Eimi is a red herring as if it is code for some mystical connection between Father and Son equating the Son with the Father or worse making the Son the Father. This type of Biblical interpretation smacks of Gematria and Pythagorean/platonic symbology.Alexandrian allegorical hermeneutics for the 21st Century.

Why does Dr. Strauss only use the Ego Eimi sayings of John what about the Ego Eimi of Matthew Mark Luke where Jesus' Ego Eimi meant in the Synoptic "I am the Messiah the Son of God". Son means Son when you have a Son it means you have a Father when you have a Father it means in human language and in biological terms that he was before you both in Age and primacy. If the Bible is written for mankind then the target language will reflect human thought patterns and logical processes.

Jesus did have a heavenly pre-existence but not as some Triune God but as a son of YHWH. Son in heavens means the same as son on earth. A son is someone who has a Father meaning that the Father is first and there was a time when the son was not.
-
Jesus tells the Jews before Abraham was I already existed, and this can clearly be read in Micah 5:2 "Out of thee shall Mine (The Messiah) come forth to be ruler of Israel, Whose comings forth have been from of old from the days of age past time. Jesus is here identified by the prophet Micah as the Messianic son of YHWH not YHWH himself . Ego Eimi is a common text manipulated and artfully misconstrued Trinitarians to erroneously prove that Jesus Ego Eimi is YHWH Esomai hos Esomai.

For YHWH speaking to Abraham in Genesis 22:17-18 says "That I (Yhwh) will richly bless thee (Abraham)and abundantly multiply thy seed as the stars of the heavens, and as the sand which is on the lip of the sea, that thy seed may take possession of the gate of his foes. So shall all the nations of the earth bless themselves in thy seed. The Messiah would come from the line of Abraham
-
The true name of YHWH in Ex. 3:14 in greek is "Esomai hos Esomai" meaning "I will be what/who I will be" not the mistranslated and abbreviated "ego eimi"which if read carefully in the greek LXX will show the full tetragrammaton translated as "Ego eimi ho on" or "I am the One who is" not "I am what I am". Jesus in John 8:58 states "Amen, Amen lego umin prin Abraam genesthai ego eimi" Truly, truly before Abraham was I am. Jesus identifies a prior existence to Abraham as the expected Messiah!!!!!

If you just read the letters of Ignatius, Polycarp and others to show they viewed Jesus as God very early on.
You censor comments? Why are christians afraid?

Afraid? lol As I say on my channel "I also filter comments which are spam, vulgar, threats, irrelevant, useless, ads, ridiculous, etc. to keep the threads relevant." Otherwise you'd have thousands of messages to go through, most of which is junk, and no one would want to read it.

Its facinating that christians have to refute a book of fiction.

So true! Truth which is twisted is a deception that goes back to the Garden of Eden. "Did God really say...?" Even Eve got it twisted and misquotes God. Thank God you and I have it all figured out, huh?! :)

You didn't get my meaning. Its pathetic that christians have to point out that fiction is fiction. A thinking human wouldn't need the clarification.

What is your point? Are you talking about the Da Vinci Code? If so, people don't know what is fact or fiction, that's the whole point. Pathetic?
