i play guitar... but i know that bassist ARE important. well, depending on the type of music you play. some bands don't need one. others are driven by them. my two favorite bassists are cliff burton (R.I.P.) and hunter burgen (not sure of spelling) of afi.

i like bassists. they add to the music a lot in my opinion. without them, songs just sound too dry i think.
