Jeffrey Dahmer reveals to the court and the world that the crimes he committed were not hate crimes. Dahmer also stated that he was sorry and if he could he would give up his life to bring back the slain victims. Dahmer does not want freedom and would rather die.

In some strange way, I feel a sense of sympathy for him. He wasn't deemed insane, because sociopathy is not clinically "crazy". His murders were methodical and planned. To be considered criminally insane, the murders have to be impulsive, and without a sense of normalcy. However, Dahmer did have a disorder. He was sociopathic, meaning he lacked a sense of remorse, connectedness, love, or any other emotion that normal people are akin to. Unfortunately, there is no medication for sociopathy.
