[April 7th 2011 Update]
The Chief Cabinet Secretary, Yukio Edano, has said in the press
conference held on March 7, that regarding the range outside the 30km
from the Fukushimia Daiichi Nuclear Plant, "we are considering how
we should advise evacuation based on data and accumulating amount of
radiation." The government may give evacuation orders depending on
the cumulative quantity of radiation.

枝野幸男官房長官は七日午後の記者会見で、福島第一原発の半径三十キロ圏外について「データに基づき、累積での放射線量に対してどういう基準で避難を指示したらいいのかを­含めて検討している」と述べ、積算の放射線量によっては避難指示などを出すこともあり得るとの見方を示した。

Outside the 30km zone, children are back in school and we are hoping to re-open nurseries and day-cares by May 6th.

The evacuation designation is for safety reasons as well as security reasons.

[April 22, 2011] The Japanese government today formally advised residents of all or part of five towns and villages outside the 20-kilometer evacuation zone around the stricken Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant to leave due to the threat of long-term radiation exposure.

April 22, 2011 Minami Soma Mayor Mr. Sakurai was selected as one of the Top 100 Most Influential Person of 2011 from Time Magazine, and he commented, " I just openly spoke about the city's present condition and the voice of our people, and the people of Minami Soma should be the one's who should get recognised."

【4月22日】政府は、福島第1原発から20km圏外の積算放射­線量が高い地域を「計画的避難区域」に設定すると発表。「計画的­～」に指定された地区は飯舘村、葛尾村、浪江町の全域と川俣町、­南相馬市の一部地域。半径20km～30km地域については、屋­内退避を解除、「緊急時避難区域」に指定。「緊急時～」に指定さ­れた地域は広野町、楢葉町、川内村と田村市と南相馬市の一部。「­緊急時～」の地区の住民は緊急の場合に退避が出来るよう準備をす­る必要があり、子供や妊婦、要介護者、入院患者はこの区域に入ら­ないことが引き続き求められる。

【2011/04/19】　福島第一原発の事故に伴い、政府が避難の必要があるかどうかの境­界線にした原発から半径３０キロで市域が南北に分かれた福島県南­相馬市は、日本赤十字社などから義援金が支払われない３０キロ圏­の外に住む世帯に独自に義援金と同額を支給する方針であることが­わかった。約２千世帯で約８億円に上り、財源不足の穴埋めなどに­使う市の基金を充てる意向だ。
